I would caution any one flying on Spirit Airlines to or from Haiti.
I actually flew down from NY to D.R. on Jet Blue and booked my return flight on Spirit Air to return on March 1. To my surprise, on March 1, when I arrived at the airport looking for Spirit Airlines, no one knew what I was talking about.
It turns out that they did not resume flights, as expected.
I was virtually stuck at the airport with worthless tickets.
I was able to purchase some tickets from a nearby travel agent for a flight the next morning, but I was livid.
I think a courtesy email or phone call would have been nice to advise me that there would be no flight.
I was grossly inconvenienced by Spirit Airlines and they've certainly lost my business after this ordeal.
