My boyfriend and I have always wanted to visit Haiti, and I am hoping to plan a trip for us this spring to celebrate his 50th birthday.
I am looking for any recommendations people might have about traveling to Haiti.
We do not want to be "tourists" but rather get a more realistic picture of the country.
We would really like someone local to stay with or at least someone who might be able to give us first hand advice about places to stay, visit, and eat. My boyfriend is an experimental electronic musician and is very interested in native Haitian music, so that would be something I would like to incorporate into our trip.
